Medical Acupuncture
The St Albans Medical Acupuncture Clinic delivers western medical acupuncture, primarily to address and provide relief of musculo-skeletal problems such as arthritic pain, back pain, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, joint pain (such as frozen shoulders and knee pain caused by osteoarthritis)

Our Clinic
Our clinic runs every Thursday afternoon at Parkbury House Surgery, Parkbury House, St Albans, Herts AL1 3HD from 4pm.
One of us will see you on your own for your first appointment, but subsequent appointments are in a group, which helps to keep costs down. Many of our patients enjoy the social aspect of the group sessions! Each appointment lasts for half an hour and costs £20.

What sorts of conditions respond to acupuncture?
- Acupuncture is effective in a range of painful conditions and is commonly used for short-term relief of chronic low back pain and neck pain. It can help with pain caused by osteoarthritis in the knees, ankles and feet, hands, shoulders and necks.
- There is evidence that it is effective in the short term relief of tension type and recurrent headaches and migraine, and of temporomandibular (jaw joint) pain.
- Short term improvements in the symptoms of overactive bladder syndrome. It may also help to provide short term relief of the symptoms of some common allergies such as hayfever and certain skin conditions as well as menopausal symptoms (for example hot flushes).
