Low cost medical acupuncture in the heart of St Albans
We offer low cost acupuncture for the relief of a variety of conditions and problems. These include pain caused by osteoarthritis in the knees, ankles and feet, hands, shoulders and necks. We also treat and aim to provide short-term relief of chronic low back pain, neck pain, recurrent headaches, hot flushes, hay fever and other conditions.
Please call us for a free consultation to discuss if we may be able to help you. Our clinics are held on Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm, by appointment only, in Parkbury House Surgery in the centre of St Albans. Our Approach Western medical acupuncture is based upon Western ideas about health and illness rather than Eastern concepts such as pulse and tongue diagnosis. It is a therapeutic treatment involving the insertion of fine needles, using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and the principles of evidence based medicine. The St Albans Medical Acupuncture Clinic was set up in 2015 and is now run by Marion Richardson and Margaret Brown after the previous NHS funded acupuncture clinic was forced to close. Marion and Margaret both trained as nurses and between them have over 7 decades of experience as health care professionals. Both trained with, and are registered and active members of, the British Medical Acupuncture Society. |
